Jan Houston Glass artist Having studied art to Higher and SYS levels at Paisley Grammar School in Scotland, Jan continued her interest in art whilst bringing up her family. During some years spent living in the Far East she developed her painting of watercolours. This allowed her to experience different styles and influences that can be seen in much of her glass work today. In 1995 Jan returned to study and specialise in Stained Glass at the Glasgow School of Art. Her tutor Eilidh Keith encouraged her to experiment with many different techniques. One area that particularly inspired her was fusing, which led to more advanced studies in fusing and slumping at the Glasgow College of Art.
