Samantha Lyall Jeweller Samantha works mainly in silver, though enjoys working in gold when she gets the opportunity, as well as precious and semi-precious stones. She makes jewellery to be worn and enjoyed, so during the design process, she considers where and how the piece will be worn. Samantha draws inspiration for making jewellery from the landscape. She is fascinated by the textures and patterns found in nature. For example, ripples on a pond, the textures of grasses and tree bark, the simple shape of a leaf, a bird in flight, or the dramatic image of a wave crashing onto a beach. Samantha designs her jewellery either by sketching ideas on paper or onto the metal itself.
